Kilia 3-27

This past Sunday the team visited the orphanage in Kilia once again. As usual they divided the kids into two groups. With the younger children there was a lesson about learning not to offend and along with the lesson there was a Superbook series cartoon. The children learned how to treat one another in this lesson. We only pray that they will put this into practice. They also sang songs and spent time coloring, which is an activity the really enjoy. With the older children the lesson was about learning not to do evil and we shared the parable of the vineyard. They also enjoyed watching a short video, singing, and playing games. We thank God for this team that travels a long distance to spend time with the children.

Kilia 12-28

A few days ago, we went to visit the children in the Kilia orphanage. There were not many children, as some went to America, and some went home for the holidays. We first had a lesson with younger children and then with the older kids.. The younger kids learned about the importance of telling the truth, we sang songs, and spent time coloring. And with the older kids we shared the story of Zacchaeus and how Jesus changed Zacchaeus's life. We shared with them that in the same way, when we meet Jesus our life is also changed. We played many different games with the older kids and enjoyed a time of conversation.

Kilia 12-12

We are thankful for the team that makes the long trip on difficult roads several times a month to the visit the in the Kilia orphanage. They were able to spend time with the children this past weekend sharing about importance of helping others not only with our words, but also with our deeds. The kids always enjoy the singing and craft time, too. This gives the volunteers to connect with the children one on one as they sit with them and work on crafts.
With the older children, volunteers shared about faith and that we receive eternal life by faith in Jesus Christ. They continue sharing this message and know that soon many kids will make the commitment in their hearts.

Kilia 11-22

Yesterday we went to Kilia and met with younger kids and sharing about the topic, “How to be obedient”. We shared with them the story of Noah and how he was obedient in building the ark although it didn't make sense and others mocked him. We made cards and sang songs.
We also had time to meet with older kids sharing about Christ. We once again shared about what Christ has done for us. How he came to earth to die for us and that we have forgiveness for our sins through Him. Pray that this good news sinks into their hearts.

Prayer Day Marathon in Kilia

Our prayer marathon has successfully started! Today we took the longest trip on the worst roads and visited the orphanage in Kilia. The trip was long, but it was worth it because we had a chance to spend time with the kids. We reminded the children about our time together in the summer camps. We all enjoyed memories of the Alice in Wonderland camp.

We were playing, singing, and making crafts together. We made a dove on which we wrote our prayers to God.  It's fascinating to hear what children are dreaming about and what their prayers are for. Some of the children were praying for health, good family, for their family and  people they love. Some were praying for reconciliation with their sister and friend, some were asking for the team to come more often and for wellbeing of all people, and of course they were asking for some toys, sweets, trips.
It reminded us that these kids are just like any other children, which means that they also need to be loved and cared for.  They live with the hope that things will get better. We need to learn from them how to have faith like children. If we look into the eyes of the orphans, we can see God in them.

They need our love and care!  Let us be the instruments of God to share with them His love and attention.

Kilia 11-7

The team made the long trip to Kilia once again this past Sunday. They had a great time with the children. New Testaments were handed out to the children that wanted one, most already have a Children's Bible.
The topic of the time with the younger children was about prayer and sharing our needs, desires, hopes, and praises with the Lord. With the older children we talked about who God is. Interesting that their first thoughts about God were that He is loving, fair, and holy. They are learning! :)
There was also plenty of time for games and conversation.

On the 18th of October, we visited children in Kilia orphanage. At first we talked with the younger kids about the creation, then we played games, and spent time coloring and talking. Later in the day with older kids we talked about people’s sinful nature and that all of us have sinned, but only God can forgive our sins.

We are thankful for the team members that faithfully make the long trip on a difficult road to visit the kids. Please pray for them. Thank you your prayers and partnership in our ministry.

Kilia

Today the team had their first meeting of the school year in the Kilia orphanage. They started using a new lesson series from the program, "The Gospel for Children" that helps to unfold Biblical truth to the children on their level. Today we were talking about "Heaven", the purpose of this lesson was to teach children that life in heaven (eternal life)  is a free gift. And if we ask God to forgive our sins - then He gives us this gift of eternal life and allows us to be with Him in heaven. They helped the children learn the verse from the Bible that says: " The payment for sin is death, but the gift that God freely gives is everlasting life found in Christ Jesus our Lord".(Rom 6:23). Also, they enjoyed singing camp songs and playing games. Please pray for the team and for the children. We really long to see the sprouts of the seeds of truth that has been sown in their hearts.

Kilia Hosting

This summer children are spending time on hosting programs throughout Europe and in America. Not all of the children can go, but many do have the opportunity. A faithful volunteer in the Kilia orphanage thought it would be nice for a few to have the opportunity to be hosted by her family. Several children have been at her home for several weeks enjoying family life. They have become part of the family routine and have also enjoyed many special things like visiting the sea. Pray that their hearts would opened to the Gospel through this experience.

Kilia 5-31

On May 31st, volunteers Maya, Tanya, and Dina visited their friends in Kilia orphanage. It was interesting to talk with graduates about how they see their future and what they plan to do. Some children went to the event organized by Nasledie at the Mall in Odessa. Those that stayed behind were happy to see the volunteers. The children have become real friends with our volunteers and counting the days till their next visit. Sisters Maya and Tanya brought the girls clothes and shoes. Dima spend time talking with children about their life and how to make good choices. We want to thank everyone who prays for these this ministry and supports children from Kilia orphanage.

Kilia 5-24

On May 24th, the volunteers of Nasledie visited their friends in the Kilia orphanage. Soon there will be a graduation party in the orphanage and it was nice to make some gifts for girls to remind them that God takes care of them in the same way as he takes care of the beauty of the field flowers. They tried on graduation ribbons and after that we wished them blessings in their adult lives. We will try to return for the actual ceremony.

At our meeting, we discussed about how we can believe that God is near and that He hears us. And how to see good even in the midst of bad situations. We took some time to look up and read the Scriptures about this.

At the end we had an opportunity to talk about what troubles they are facing at this time. We are thankful that the children are open with us. Thank you very much for your participation and support. We consider you a part of the team that shows God's love to these children.

Kilia 5-17

May 17th volunteers of Nasledie visited  the children in the Kilia orphanage. Children were happy to see us and to talk with Maya and Dima. They shared their thoughts about what it means to be alone. They came to the conclusion that all people are lonely, but if you remain in fellowship with God – you will be never be alone. After this discussion children had opportunity to share what they are going through with volunteers, pray together, and ask for advice. We are grateful for this great opportunity to serve!

Kilia 5-3

These warm sunny days give us the opportunity to hang out with children outside and play various games! Praise God! This trip brought us a lot of positive encouragement. Sergei was playing with younger ones and they were giggling with joy, Lena had speech lessons and Maya and Dima were passing out clothes. It was like a blessed family time and brought us and the children a lot of joy.

The Bible lesson was about sowing and reaping. We used different materials to show them that we will reap the consequences of our actions and that God is just. And because he is just we need to trust him even when we are treated unfairly. We shared with them story of the Good Samaritan and some personal experiences from our lives.

We also had the opportunity to visit children in the infirmary. Those children are isolated from the world and need love, support, and friendship with adults who know God. Thank you to all who support our volunteers and ministry.

Kilia

On April 26th the girls from the Kilia orphanage spent some time  with Tanya and Olya, volunteers from Nasledie.  They discussed how Christ must have felt before his crucifixion, when he was arrested, and about all other events that took place before His death. It helped them understand that God is not just expressing compassion in our difficulties, but  that he is able  to understand us, support us, and work everything together for our good.  After the lesson, we had friendly conversations and the graduates had their pictures taken for the year book.
