Utkonosovka March

On the 17th of March, the team visited the children in the Utkonosovka orphanage. The team was invited to their Miss Orphanage Competition. Everything went well and the children performed their program wonderfully. As a gift the team brought each class a fancy cake.

The team also visited the orphanage on the 22nd of March, but this time they brought their program for the kids. The topic was forgiveness and learning to forgive others when they have hurt us and to ask for forgiveness when they hurt someone. The team spent time playing, singing, making bracelets and crosses with beads, and cards that they could be given to people that they have hurt at some point. Children enjoyed this time and caregivers were involved as well as the children.

Utkonosovka 2-23

On the 23rd of February our team visited the Utkonosovka orphanage and with each group of kids we made different salads and sandwiches. The younger children had pancakes where they needed to prepare the filling, cut bananas, and add some sweetened condensed milk. Older kids made sandwiches in shape of piglets, and the oldest kids prepared a fruit salad. After learning how to make and eat tasty treats, we had lessons where we learned about God and sang songs. Also, we brought them toys, clothes, and some cups. Praise God for all he does through this ministry.

Utkonosovka 2-9

Yesterday, our team of 27 people visited the orphanage in the Utkonosovka village. We changed the way we usually work with kids in this orphanage and divided children into 5 groups (1-2, 3-4, 5-6, 7-8, 9 classes) and assigned 5-6 people to a group that will be with them every time we come. This will help build relationships and friendships in order to take a step towards being involved in their lives. Each group has own program (crafts, games, songs), but we all have the same a lesson. The lesson this time was about the plan of salvation through the life of Noah. Everything went great and inspired us to sing all the way home.😊

Utkonosovka 12-23

On the 23rd of December, the team visited the orphanage in Utkonosovka. The team performed a Christmas skit. All of the kids really liked it and watched and listened intently. Many caregivers also watched and were deeply touched by the skit. . It is a blessing for us to also minister and share God's story with them. The caregivers were very grateful for our visit and thanked us for coming. There were gifts for all the children that were gathered by a local church and a local Christian School. Praise God for those that partner with us in ministering and that He is blessing the children and the caregivers. Pray that He will continue to work hearts of the children and the caregivers. 

Utkonosovka 12-8

On the 8th of December, we visited the children in the Utkonosovka orphanage. We have only been visiting these children for a short time, but the children have connected with our volunteers quickly. We talked with the children about deceit and how it was important to share the truth at all times. Everyone had a great time singing, making waffle cakes with caramel, and talking with each other. The kids loved this time with us and we plan to return soon!

Utkonosovka 11-15 Prayer Day Marathon

On the 15th of November, we visited the orphanage in Utkonosovka for the Prayer Day Marathon. The topic of our meeting was, you reap what you sow. After the meeting, we made bracelets using ribbon, sang songs, and spent time praying. The caregivers were surprised at the kids' willingness to participate in all of the activities. Praise God that in just a few months God has helped us build relationships with these children!

Woo hoo! The Utknosovka kids were the winners. Children were brought to Odessa to enjoy a meal at McDonalds and to participate in a soccer tournament in partnership with The Way Home. It was a great day for them and all the teams that participated.

Once again the team visited the children in Utkonosovka. The team continues to work hard to build relationships with the children as we have only been working in this orphanage for a few months. The Biblical topic this time was about Creation. The children also enjoyed playing tug of war and other sports games. Pray that relationships will continue to be built and the children will begin to really trust the team members.

Our team visited the Utkonosovka orphange on the 14th of October. We were able to provide the with soccer uniforms and the children were really excited to get outside and start using them!

We have a new team that started back in May. They visited the children in the Utkonovsovka orphanage once before summer, so in September they were excited to visit for the second time. The team focuses on building relationships with the children. It is important to establish trust as we visit them consistently. Please pray the children will connect with the volunteers and open their hearts.

 



Utkonosovka! NEW ORPHANAGE! 5-17

We have great news to share with you! We have started work in another orphanage. Praise God for this opportunity. This orphanage is located not far from Izmail, where another Nasledie team is working.

 

For the first visit, we played games with the children and sang songs. The leaders of the orphanage invited the team to return. We are grateful for this! The children are waiting for us to return!
