Chornaya 3-5

We had the opportunity to visit children in Chornaya orphanage. We haven’t been there since December, due to the weather and the children being sick. We have played games and sang songs. Our Mickey Mouse performed a big bubble show that the kids really enjoyed. The Bible lesson was about Daniel and we ended by watching a cartoon from the Superbook series. It was an amazing time with children. Both caregivers and children were really happy to see us and invited us to come more often.  We praise God for these children and their caregivers. God blessed us with a team that had a cheerful attitude and good weather that day.

Chornaya 12-19

On the 19th of December, our team visited the Chornaya orphanage. It was a blessed trip. The team leader got sick and it was the first time the volunteers were without the main leader. God gave them courage to head out to the orphanage and to lead the program. We are thankful for our faithful leaders and volunteers! 
Children were very glad to see us and they accept us as good friends.  We played lots of games and sang many songs, but most importantly we shared with kids and their caregivers the truth about Jesus Christ. The day of our visit was Saint Nicholas day, so we decided to share with them the origin of this holiday and help them understand that we should worship Jesus Christ. We believe that the seed of the gospel was sown into their hearts. Please pray about for these children as they ponder the birth of Jesus and what it means for them.

Chornaya 11-21

On the 21st of November, we visited the children in the Chornaya orphanage. We sang songs, played games, and talked with  kids about the creation of the world. At the end, we showed them a great video about how God created people. We told children that they are unique and wonderfully made. There were a lot of kids and they were very active in participating in all of the activities. We see that each time we visit they connect with us a little more.

Please pray for these children. They are considered social orphans. They have families, but they are poor and have a lot of problems. Many of them live in houses that have holes in the roofs and walls. They sleep on the hay instead of a bed and come back to the orphanages with lice. They stay in the orphanages during the week, but often are at home on weekends and holidays. The situation in their homes is very difficult. We thank God for those who pray for these children and for their caregivers. Praise God the director is very open and always glad to see us coming. The children really need to know about God and His love for them. We are grateful for the opportunity to love them and to share with them the Good News.

Chornaya 10-17

Over the weekend our team visited the Chornaya orphanage. We had a fun program for the kids.  Our cartoon character led the games and competitions. Children and orphanage workers were really glad to see us. Praise God for the opportunity to visit these children. 

 

Chornaya Orphange 4-4

Our team visited the orphanage in Chornaya over the weekend. We had a lesson about Easter and made an interesting craft out of cardstock and napkins. All things did not go in a way we planned, but we had great time with the children. We are grateful that God gives us strength to serve and to share with those children about the wonderful news of the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ. After the Bible lesson time, we sang songs and the children took part in different contests. Our children love contests and games and are always very active in participating. At the end,  we showed them a film about the crucifixion and the resurrection of Jesus from the Super Book series. We were also able to share with them hygiene items.

We thank everyone who helps us serve these children and support us in prayers.

Chornaya Team Take 2

We announced last month that we had a new team that had formed to visit the children in the Chornaya Orphanage. They headed out again on the 31st of January to visit the children. This time there were a few more children that had been missing during the last visit during the holiday time. The team had a great time playing games, singing songs, and sharing about the love of Christ. They were also able to gift the children warm slippers and sweatpants.

A new team headed to Chornaya Orphanage

A new team is forming! We have visited the Chornaya orphanage throughout the past several years, but never consistently. We now have a coordinator and plan to visit each month on a regular basis. Katya and the team had a great time with the kids at the end of December. They played games, shared a Bible story, sang songs, and started to get to know the kids.
