Dima and Anya visited the children again on Saturday at the Balta orphanage. This was the second small group meeting time. They are encouraged and can see that there is progress in building relationships with the kids.
Dima met with the boys and watched a film about paternity and association with parents. This opened up a lot of conversation and the boys were able to share their stories. They expressed they would like to continue discussing this the next time we meet.
Anya met with the girls and they spent time discussing friendship. The girls share about what they valued and needed in a friendship. It was discussed that in order to have good friends you must be a good friend. Most importantly, do we possess the good qualities that others are looking for in a friend? We also started working on some needlework and yarn crafts.
Keep us in your prayers as we continue with these new small groups. Next time we will be asking for classrooms to work in rather than the bedrooms. Please pray that we will be granted permission for that space to meet in.
